Lucerne project with Innovative Farmers

I am working with Dave Cross (based near Heacham, north Norfolk) on an Innovative Farmers project on investigating grazing lucerne with ewes from around lambing through to weaning. We have just finished the first year and it showed great benefits for liveweight gain for ewe lambs rearing lambs.

AHDB Beef & Lamb Strategic Farmers

I am working with three of AHDB's strategic farmers - Chris and Louise Elkington in Lincolnshire, Steven Lawson in Northumberland and Richard Carruthers in Cumbria. I meet with them monthly to talk through the decisions for the next few weeks and also helping them develop a vision for their businesses. We are focussing on grass and forage production and utilisation.

Sustainability plan with Hereford Cattle Society

I am working with the Hereford Cattle Society to help them develop a sustainability plan for their breed, which will include reviewing their technical performance, genetic trends and carbon footprints.
