The first Carbon Calling conference will now to held on Saturday the 26th of June 202110 am to 4.30 pm.
Liz, Nic, Reno and Tim have taken the unsurprising decision to move Carbon Calling to 2021 due to the uncertainty about large gatherings.
The new dates are Saturday the 26th June 2021 for the main conference and Sunday the 27th for the workshop with Joel Salatin. Joel is over for Groundswell on the 23th and 24th of June so it makes sense for him to come north after talking there.
Anyone who has bought tickets will be contacted in the next week with an offer of a full refund or their place being held for the one in 2021.
ReGenAg Live Chats
Nic and Liz are continuing to do their live chats with a range of farmers and advisers. They have just done number 11 with Michael Blanche. Recordings can be found on YouTube and an audio only podcast version at Buzzsprout (or search for ReGenAg on other podcast hosting services).
The programme for 2021 is remaining the same as for the 2020 one.
It is a great line-up with Joel Salatin (polyfacefarms.com or www.thelunaticfarmer.com) as the headliner and he will be talking about how livestock has improved the productivity of his farm. We have seven different farmers - Lowther Estate's David Bliss, Thomas Stobart, Paul Renison, Angus Nelless, Alan Cowan, Charley Walker and Jim Logan - talking about their grazing systems and how they made changes to their systems. There is a "what could future farms look like" session with Nuffield Scholar Geraint Powell, Small Robot Company's founder Sam Watson Jones and Jake Fiennes from Holkham Estate. Heather Wildman will be closing the conference with guidance on how to put it all into practice. The conference costs £40 (+VAT).
Booking form is below and please return or send any queries to susan@lizgenever.com. Some people have experienced problems downloading the form - please contact susan@lizgenever.com for an email copy.
After the conference, there is an opportunity to take a stroll with Joel to go and look around the host farm and their crops. This cost £20 (+ VAT). There will also be a bar and basic camping facilities on site.
Sunday 27th June 2021 WORKSHOP WITH JOEL SALATIN Joel has transformed how other farmers and policy makers think about grass and forage systems for livestock production. He has demonstrated the farms can be profitable and have huge environmental benefits, which is driven by a respect and focus on soil health. The workshop will provide an opportunity for Joel to talk through his approaches and help delegates see the potential of their businesses. Places are limited to 50 for the workshop and £120 (+VAT).
